Ask a planner answers: Investing for retirement

Thursday, May 11, 2017

The question is from  Gulmira, 41

I would like to know how better to invest money for retirement.

Answer by Christopher Wicks CFPTM Chartered MCSI, Bridgewater Financial Services

The starting point is to make pension contributions as these benefit from tax relief at source. For every 80p invested £1 gets allocated to the pension, which also grows tax free. There are other options and it is also necessary to consider how much to contribute in order to deliver the required lifestyle in retirement.

Bridgewater aims to provide a highly personalised service to clients who value having direct access to an experienced financial planner rather than the more impersonal and less bespoke service that can be expected from large financial institutions.
