What's happening

These are just some of the key things that are happening this year in support of the campaign.

The website

The Financial Planning Week website has lots of practical tips, tools and information for people to use to kick start their plans. The cash flow forecasting tool from Prestwood Software is particularly useful, and has been made available specifically for Financial Planning Week. Similarly, Finametrica have made available an excellent risk profile tool to help people assess their appetite for financial risk.  You'll also find an “Ask a Planner” facility. If consumers have questions about money, they can submit them to a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM Professional who will provide expert help and guidance ( note – planners cannot offer individual “Advice” via this route).

Events

Financial Planners around the UK are getting involved with Financial Planning Week, offering free financial surgeries to consumers who’d like to take the opportunity to meet with a professional planner. Others are running seminars or events where they’re highlighting what financial planning is all about in order to help people learn effective ways of improving the way they approach their finances. Details of these can be found on the Financial Planning Week website.

Facebook  News, views tips and guidance are all available on Financial Planning Week’s own Facebook page. In a brand new venture for 2011, people can find all sorts of useful articles to help them plan ahead from a whole range of different sources.  See the link below:
