Chairman Biography

Chris Bowmer is a Director and Planner for Fortitude Financial Planning Ltd having started the firm in 2002. He started in the financial industry from University in 1984 and graduated through mortgage advice and tied agents to become an IFA in 1994.

Following successful employment providing Financial Advice within several Accountancy practices the launch of Fortitude was an attempt to focus on client’s long term needs rather than sales but it was not until 2006 that he had the eureka moment of completing the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM certification which changed the way he worked forever.

When Fortitude merged with Neil Bailey’s Sensible Financial Planning a real planning business was created that offers clients an expectation of long term support past the career of the current Planners. Our long term vision is to create a benchmark planning firm that is the business of choice for its target market.

Chris is married with two children, living near Towcester. He is passionate about cricket and keen on most sport.

 

Introduction to the branch

The Northern Home Counties Branch runs meetings the last Wednesday of the month at 2.30 pm. Meetings run for about 2 hours.

Meetings are generally held in Milton Keynes (at the centre of a fairly large area) at the Hilton Hotel in Kents Hill, this has ample free parking and is easy to get to from everywhere (thank you Milton Keynes).

The programme is designed to be varied and interesting for existing CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM professionals and for anyone starting out in the Profession and wanting to understand what makes a Planner different from a salesman.

 

How to attend these meetings

Attendance at branch meeting is free to IFP members. Non-members and guests are welcome to attend and the first two meetings are free of charge. After that, there is a fee of £10 per meeting.
