A question of ethics. **New format meeting** Session 1: 16.00 / Session 2: 18.00
This month we are introducing the first of our three ‘double’ sessions being run this year. The idea is to open the meetings up to our Paraplanners, junior colleagues, and others, who may find an afternoon session easier to attend. Our normal first Tuesday of the month event will follow on as normal.
The first double session will look at the question of ‘ethics’ which now features as part of the FSA’s requirements within the level 4 qualifications syllabus. For many advisers this will need to be covered as part of their gap fill activities, unless they intend to sit a qualification like RO1 from the CII.
Both sessions will have a similar format, an interactive case study, leading to a group discussion and debate.
Session 1 will feature Professor Paul Palmer of the Cass Business School, who some members may recall from our ‘charities’ session last year. He is an excellent speaker, very engaging and has run similar workshops around the country over the past year. The content is not too dry or heavy, and would be extremely useful for members and guests alike.
Session 2 features Phil Billingham CFPCM, who is probably known to most of the membership, and who has previously chaired the IFP’s ethics committee, as well as previously running his own consultancy where he gained considerable knowledge and insight as to the regulator’s thoughts and direction. He will also lead an interactive case study and discussion, taking a more pragmatic business orientated viewpoint.
Members are free to attend either session, or both if they wish. Non member Paraplanners and guests are able to attend a single session of their choice.
Please indicate on your reply which session(s) you and your guests are attending.
