The Institute of Financial Planning training and development programmes

The ultimate aim of our training programmes is to enable members to develop their skills as a Financial Planner through attendance at workshops and other annual events possibly leading to CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification – an internationally recognised standard of true Financial Planning, or even becoming a Fellow of the Institute.

The Financial Planning process includes six important steps:

STEP ONE Identifying financial objectives and/or problems
STEP TWO Collecting and assessing all relevant personal and financial data
STEP THREE Processing and analysing the data collected against the client’s needs and stated objectives
STEP FOUR Producing a written plan, which describes how to make the most effective use of financial resources to meet the agreed needs and objectives of the client
STEP FIVE Implementing the plan
STEP SIX Reviewing, progressing and modifying the plan, as necessary, to take account of changed circumstances

Our range of workshops are set at different levels to guide you through the varying stages of Financial Planning dependent upon your current experience. Upon attending an IFP workshop you can be assured of an experienced IFP trained facilitator and quality training material that can be used as a future point of reference.
