Our gap-fill requirements
Below you will find our gap-fill requirements
CPD requirements
CPD can be historic or new and should be structured rather than unstructured. The structured activity must last for at least 30 minutes. If you are using historic CPD you should ensure that you can provide all the necessary evidence.
Resources
The IFP has accredited a number of gap-fill activities, which can be found on the online CPD system. There is also a directory of forthcoming events.
You can also fill your gaps by undertaking gap-fill activities approved by other professional bodies such as the PFS/CII, CISI and ifs.
If you undertake any other structured activities to fill your gaps you will need to provide all the necessary evidence that the activity filled the relevant gaps. The IFP will not accept activities such as reading and watching videos as suitable for gap-fill unless they meet the requirements for structured CPD. This will generally mean that the reading materials or videos will need to include some form of self-test to enable verification of the activity.

Exams
There isn't a requirement for advisers with transitional qualifications to sit any further exams but you may choose to do so for gap-fill purposes or to achieve a new level 4 qualification.
Calibrand offers a gap-fill exam option exclusively for CFP professionals and Fellows. It consists of two papers covering all learning outcomes not covered by the CFP Certification and Fellowship. Those who successfully complete the two units will also be awarded Calibrand’s new level 4 Diploma in Professional Financial Advice.
For further information visit the Calibrand website.
There are a number of other new level 4 exams which you could also consider, click here to download the FSA's list of RDR qualifications.
